 IRIS Barbara loves
painting with watercolors! She enjoys the transparent qualities of
this medium to the opaque hues. She also loves to teach others this
art skill. Barbara is known for painting all
kinds of subject matter, yet angels, barns, and flowers are my
favorites. Painting is fun, relaxing and also can be challenging. She
finds it enjoyable to paint all different watercolor techniques and
use misket, paraffin, doilies or Tulip Craft paint to get the texture
and painterly effects on paper. She suggests that you are painting
an image, not a photograph. Her paintings are suggestions of the image
she sees in a photograph. She wants her viewers to enjoy my paintings,
yet take a closer look at what technique she uses to create an
exciting surface. Barbara has a Masters in Watercolor
Painting from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor's
degree in Graphic Design and Art Education. She attends many workshops
to keep up with the latest techniques and skills. In addition, she
teaches children and adult Art Classes in her home in Commission
