Elizabeth (Zib) Haury, a self-taught artist, has been doing portraits for years. Her portraits can be found in homes scattered all over the United States and in Europe too.

She has always been fascinated with the faces of Indians. The sharpness of the bone structure, the sometimes cast to the eyes, etc.. Since all photographs of Indians are black and white she has utilized her skills learned from doing all of those portraits by doing the Indian portraits in vivid color and thus bringing them to "life".
