Since college, she has spent time painting in rural Maine, in the forests of Pennsylvania, the Amish Farms of Ohio, as well as abroad in S. E. Asia. Most recently, however, she would call herself a landscape painter of the southwestern U. S. where she has spent many hours painting on location and gathering subject matter to bring back to her studio. This broad experience has helped to shape her bold fresh watercolors of natural landscapes and floral's. She studied at Illinois State University and Principia College and graduated with a B.A. in studio art in 1975. Since then she has added extensive coursework to her experience, including graduate level courses in drawing, painting, and art history. She has worked as a professional picture framer since 1981 and has taught watercolor classes from her various studio-galleries for years in addition to being a watercolor and oil painting instructor at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL. Nora has won numerous awards at outdoor and other juried shows and festivals throughout the U. S. She's enjoyed displaying in several one-person shows and exhibits.
