Arts & More Gallery Opens

Home town girl returns to the nest to open what promises to be an exciting space for fine art fans.

You may have heard the buzz, it’s finally here. The new “Arts & More… Gallery”, located at 302 North Main Street Red Bud , Illinois , which features a main salon, and exhibit hall, opens for business on Friday April 22, 2005 . The gallery will also be participating in Red Bud’s Spring Fever April 30^th 9am to 3pm with a champagne reception and exhibition by a selection of artists from around the country. Cathy Dupertuis who will preside over the event said: “It’s great to be back in Red Bud, being involved in my community gives me great pride, I look forward to participating in this event, and I feel like it will go off with a bang”. We have had a lot of interest in the gallery and are so please with the hand-selected artist exhibiting here. Each creation has a great impact on the space and has a positive effect on everyone who views it”. Micheal Drone’s exquisite photography “Rodeo” and “ St. Louis ” series has aroused a lot of interest and a number of collectors have already enquired about the possibility of buying this body of work”. Donald Curran’s “Early American” original impressionist works are breath taking, and have exhibited in some of the finest galleries and art exhibitions across the country.

Cathy Dupertuis herself is no stranger to artistic accomplishment having successfully painted and has sold numerous key pieces. She has been involved in the Arts for years: “Opening this gallery is a dream realized. I have been in contact with many artists across the country that have an interest in exhibiting as well. So keep your eyes open for new artists to come. I have a feeling that they will all be well received. My goal is to exhibit great talent here so that the region can be privy to the great accomplishments of artists and the valuable rewards of art ownership. If you can’t find the art you are looking for here, we will do our best to find it for you.

There are also plans for a website to showcase the talents of all of our exhibiting artists as well as regular “show what you bring” nights and “children’s gallery” days to allow anyone to show their work to the general public.

For the time being though, the gallery in Red Bud is displaying works by Adam Saiter, Arnold Martinez, Barbara Schrieber, Jane Mason, John Wetzel, Kerry Shea, Linda Bollenbach, Loetitia Lilot, Nora Bushlong Larimer, Sally Wittnauer, William Wegmuller, prints by several Canadian Artists and art supplies for the arts enthusiasts. Open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 7pm and Saturday/Sunday from 12pm to 6:00pm
